The book is a time capsule of racial, moral and ethical issues viewed through the eyes of an intelligent child trying to fit into a society without conforming to its long held standards. Growing up is never easy and going back to childhood, crawling around in Scout's skin, helped me remember my own experiences growing up in a small Alabama town.
